When seventeen-year-old Paige dies in a freak fall from the roof during Physics class, her spirit is bound to the grounds of her high school. At least she has company: her fellow ghosts Evan and Brooke, who also died there. But when Paige hears the rumor that her death wasn't an accidentâ??that she supposedly jumped on purposeâ??she can't bear it. Then Paige discovers something amazing. She can possess living people when they think of her, and she can make them do almost anything. A teenage girl having died continues to be aware of her surroundings at school as a ghost, but is confined within the boundaries of the school by some cosmic law. She is, however, not alone in her ghostly wanderings, she has two other friends who also died at school and is stuck between the border line of the boundaries and their school. She just wandered the halls, following her bestfriend and her secret boyfriend, until the most popular girl at school started a rumor that her death was not just a simple death but a suicide, making her want to prove to everyone that the rumor is nothing but that. When the protagonist figures out that she can inhabit human beings, she was determined to let everyone know the truth. This is a delicious story with all of the high school jealousies, lies and gossip. And a plot twist so unexpected that makes you finish till the last page. There are no words for this story is suspenseful and creative. And, thinking about my high school experience, I can't help but think, what if?.. ( )

Interesting premise about three students stuck at school after they die. Paige is not very happy to hear that a student has suggested Paige jumped off the top of the roof. Paige is adamant her death is not a suicide and sets out to stop the rumours by inhabiting the bodies of students, speaking out against the rumour. Twist at the end. ( )

Seventeen-year-old Paige had her whole life in front of her. Until she wound up dead. Now, she’s a ghost stuck forever at the school with Evan and Brooke, two other students who also died in the building. They can see everyone living their lives, but their old lives are gone forever.

I wish I could say that I enjoyed this book, but it frustrated me from the very beginning. It took me a very long time to even get through the entire novel book even though it's pretty short. I was frustrated by the characters and annoyed by the conversations they had. I will admit that I did not see the ending coming. ( )

Williams offers a quirky consideration of the afterlife and what ghosts can get up to in their attempts to right the wrongs of their pasts, and attempts to set the record straight. Paige has to confront others assumptions of her life, but also has to view her own criticisms of them, which she does from a radically different perspective. William’s plot is well-constructed and creative, especially when you consider the fact that the story never leaves the high school’s premises. Thoughtful and entertaining , Paige learns to come to terms with both the life she had and didn’t have in this examination of the impact of hidden relationships and social divisions. Absent is a solid effort that ensures readers will continue to seek out future projects from Williams. Recommended ( )
