This was an OK read. The story-line deviated a bit from the usual college romances out there. The whole mafia aspect gave it a more grave effect and that was what kept me interested in what happens next. Downside to this particular novel was predictability in more then one important situation. But still, i enjoyed reading it and would recommend it. ( )

I give it a strong 3.5 with love! There were many things that I liked and some that bothered me. First off, much respect to the author for releasing her first book! I am an aspiring author also so I know how much hard work, emotional investment and courage it takes to put yourself out there! It definitely felt like a first novel, though. I found myself wanting to edit a lot of it or tweak her writing up just a notch!

Things I loved:
- Mia's honesty and impulsiveness. She said out loud what was on my mind a lot!
- How much Marcus loved her. He makes me melt...aaahhhh...( A good song for him, "The man who can't be moved" by The Script! LOL)
- The plot, the secrets, the lies. It kept me interested.

Things that bothered me:
- There was not enough build up to them falling in love. It was all so sudden and I didn't feel that "moment". I love reaching that point in a story when I feel the characters falling in love and my heart clenches! I didn't feel that. It was like suddenly they were madly in love and you just had to believe it. Which became a little easier to do as the story went on I'll admit.
- I also didn't feel like Mia was as in to Marcus as he was into her. Maybe Mia could have offered a little more heartfelt words to him that would convince me how much she loved him.

Overall great story just needed a little more emotional connection to really put it over the top for me! I look forward to more from E.L. Montes, I like her style!

Wow talk about Male Alpha Marcus surely has that in this book .

Mia Sullivan is in her first year of Harvard Law School and maintains a 4.0 G.P.A. During the last class of the year, she is surprised by one of her professors who submitted her name for a extern position at one the most prestigious law firms in Boston. These positions are highly coveted and only for incoming 3rd year law students, so Mia is very lucky to have this opportunity to interview.

Her roommate, Jeremy is also selected to apply for an interview and decides that they should go out and celebrate their good fortune. While there Jeremy is on the prowl and leaves Mia sitting and drinking alone at a table. However, Mia has caught the eye of Marcus DeLuca owner of the club and just so happens to be the owner of the law firm that she will be interviewing for.

Marcus was completely lovable! How can you not love a guy that says things like, "you're everything, Mia Without you, there's no reason for me." He was successful, good looking, powerful and smart. He's a family man, which gets extra points in my book. His secret life kills me! KILLS ME!!! I wanted so badly for him to be able to open up to Mia and not let his secrets get in the way of their love.


I loved Marcus' family. They were so welcoming and loving toward Mia! Considering how quickly their love came to be, I was surprised his mother was so open to it. She truly wanted her son to be happy. I even started to like his brother Jimmie toward the end. And his niece (Jimmie's daughter), Elle, was perfect! Loved her!!! I really want Mia to be able to be a part of the family. She had been through so much already, she shouldn't have to lose this family too.

there is more to this , but I don't want to spoil it all for everyone so with that I will end this review and Say I can't wait for Cautious to be released ......
