This is about the super heroes sleeping during a storm when a lightning bolt hits the flag pole that chases over to the backpacks and the backpacks come to life. Once the super heroes the noise, they go to investigate and try to make friends with the backpacks but some of the super heroes are a bit stand offish, When they are trying to figure out how the backpacks came to life another strike of lightning hits and the backpacks are no longer alive. Thats when they realize how the backpacks come alive to begin with.

I thought this was a cute book. I feel like it would be a good read for maybe first or second grade.

Classroom Activity: I would let the students make a comic book for themself with their own super heroes. They would have to pick an item that is not alive to base their story around, and would have to make up a way for the item to come alive.

Classroom Activity: I would have the students make up their own super hero. They would have to tell me what kind of powers they would have, and what would make them a super hero. Their summary would have to be very detailed. They would also have to draw a picture of what they would like as a super hero.
