At the end of WWI, Marcel Duchamp arrived in Buenos Aires. He tried and failed to mount an exhibition. During WW II, at the beginning of the 1940s he lived in New York and had a long romance with the famous Brazilian sculptress, Maria Martins. She was his muse for various works, including "Dados". The esteemed art historian poses that it was impossible for nothing but personal emotions to have been exchanged in these events. Antelo shows the work of Duchamp and the artistic influence of Martins and how Latin American cultural history, with their debates and controversies, crosses in a tenuous but incontestable way, the work of Duchamp.
