Suspense. Thriller. Young Adult Fiction. HTML:

Who am I?

My name is Christy Snow. I'm seventeen and I'm about to die.

I'm buried in a coffin under tons of concrete. No one knows where I am. My heart sounds like a monster with clobber feet, running straight toward me. I'm lying on my back, soaked with sweat from the hair on my head to the soles of my feet. My hands and feet won't stop shaking.

Some will say that I m not really here. Some will say I'm delusional. Some will say that I don t even exist. But who are they? I'm the one buried in a grave.

My name is Christy Snow. I'm seventeen. I'm about to die.

So who are you?

In a return to the kind of storytelling that made Black, Showdown and Three unforgettable, Ted Dekker drags that question into the light with this modern day parable about how we see ourselves. Humming with intensity and blindsided twists, Eyes Wide Open is raw adrenaline from the first page to the last pure escapism packed with inescapable truth. Not all is as it seems. Or is it? Strap yourself in for the ride of your life. Literally. (Young Adult)

Identity is a quick read, the pilot book of a series called Eyes Wide Open. The book is fast faced and based around the premise of the challenges of losing your identity. It was enjoyable but I wasn't left wanting to continue the series. ( )

Terrifying. Completely. ( )

It's intriguing and the dramatic scenes are well written enough but I won't be rushing to read the rest of the series just yet. I never really formed much of a connection to any of the characters. Fans of psychological thrillers will probably love this one. I only started getting into the story in the last ten pages. Good thing it was a free Kindle read. ( )

Identity is actually a very good book. The characters are developed very well with depth and emotions and there certainly is a mystery with conflict. The problem is.. Even though it is part of a series… the first part is way tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo short. You just get involved and are figuring out things and wham like a slap in the face.. it’s over with the beg to buy the next book. I really liked this book… it was interesting, kept me turning pages but I am not sure I want to buy the next book, esp. if it’s only 66 pages! Off to a great start but… lacking in length. ( )

This is the first book (or section) of Eyes Wide Open. I am reading the entirety of Eyes Wide Open all at once. This is my review of the first section of the book, Eyes Wide Open, before I have read the rest of the book. For a full review, please visit my blog at a later date.

I like the premise of this story: two teenagers find themselves in the section of the hospital that involves mental diseases and they start to question their sanity. This book is really slow paced with not much action. The characters plan to break out of the institute, but not much actually happens. Additionally, there is not much character development. I hope the rest of Eyes Wide Open picks up soon. This is not the best Ted Dekker book. ( )
