I muttered "wow" and teared up as I got to the last chapter. What an incredible series. ( ) Well, there it is, the end to a fantastic series. I loved this volume. I won't talk much about the plot because I really don't want to spoil it. My only criticism would be that some of the villains in this volume are a little too conveniently evil? And the novel itself really didn't end in the way that I expected it to but I loved seeing Gus' growth as a character and the art is beautiful, moody and the water colours are so vivid -- the washes are gorgeous. It astonishes me that Lemire wrote and drew the artwork for the novel, that in and of itself, whether you like the books or not, is an impressive feat and deserves respect. Thank you, Lemire, for all you've done. I'll miss this series a lot. This wasn't a perfect series. It was preachy as hell, the same plot pints were reused over and over again, and the entire explanation for the sickness and hybrids was as awful the second time around as the first. But this series made me care about the characters, and it made me cry, so Lemire must have been doing something right. JEFF LEMIRE, YOU GENIUS. This was an absolutely kick-ass ending to a kick-ass series. One of the better series conclusions I have read. If you haven't picked up Sweet Tooth yet, do yourself a favor and read it. The characters and plot are incredibly well developed and even if they weren't I would have read it for the art alone. I also kind of love that it is only six volumes, sometimes longer series are too intimidating to start and this didn't frag but concluded right when it should have. New fave, without a doubt. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

A cross between Bambi and Cormac McCarthy's The Road, Sweet Tooth tells the story of Gus, a rare new breed of human/animal hybrid children, who has been raised in isolation following an inexplicable pandemic that struck a decade earlier. Dr. Singh arrives in Alaska and uncovers the origins of Gus and the hybrid children and the cause of the plague that decimated the world. And as Gus and Jepperd finally arrive in Alaska and come face to face with the truth, the militia continues to bear down on them. Their deadliest battle is still ahead.
