Not quite as lovely as the title implies, somehow, but still - I would love to be part of this family. ( )

I love all of the Henry and Mudge books. They have such simplistic and powerful messages and don't have any of the qualities that I hate in children's books such as bickering or stereotypical gender roles. I also think the integration of the illustrations with the text are done perfectly and add a lot to the story. ( )

After being intimidated by what will happen on the family camping trip, Henry finds himself admiring stars and nature. Mudge, as always, is a dedicated companion - although, eating all the time.

Henry and Mudge go camping! They explore the nature and animals, Henry's mom is a camping pro while Henry's dad just comes along with a guitar and a smile. They look at starts and spend the night safe and surrounded by nature. Mudge humorously finds and eats food the whole trip. ( )
