Grace wants to trust her adopted brother, Thane; but will his secret put the girls in even more danger? And Gretchen has trained her sisters to stop the monsters, but her role as a huntress comes with more responsibility than she ever imagined. What will the girls' immortal legacy be? SWEET LEGACY is the final book in the trilogy begun in SWEET VENOM. Grace, Greer, and Gretchen have lots to do before opening the door that they are meant to guard. They need to rescue their mentors, find their boyfriends and learn their secrets, and find the door that they are meant to open and guard. Hordes of Greek gods and monsters are trying to stop them.

Greer gets a better grip on her ability of second sight once she manages to break the link with Apollo that lets him know where she is and what she is doing. Since he's one of the gods who don't want the girls to succeed, this is vital to the success of their mission.

Gretchen learns that monsters are not all bad as she makes friends with some while she is in Abyssos trying to rescue her boyfriend and her mentors. Grace finds her confidence and her courage as she searches for the girls' birth mother and faces other tests.

After they manage to unravel the riddle left by the oracle and find where the door is hidden, they have to gather their allies before facing a big battle.

The story was action-packed and filled with adventure. It was also a great story about family especially the kind of family you make. I liked the way the sisters respected each other's strengths and the way they meshed given that they were just getting to know each other.

I recommend this book and this series to fans of mythology and urban fantasy. ( )

Glad to have the trilogy completed at last! The three sisters, descended from Medusa, finish their legacy with a few bumps, and interesting forays into mythology. ( )

This was the third, and final, book in the Medusa Sisters trilogy by Childs. It was an okay conclusion to the series, but my least favorite book of the three. I love the mythology in here, but things weren’t wrapped up all that well.

Greer, Gretchen, and Grace must seek out the lost door between the realms and make a choice. They can close the door forever and wipe out all of Hell’s creatures or they can open it and allow some of the monsters out into our world in a controlled way. Either choice they make they will be hounded by the monsters of Hell and the Gods of Olympus.

This book is Greer’s book, she must learn how to harness the power of her sight both to help the girls rescue their ancestors and to find the lost door. So we hear a lot from her perspective and a lot of the book focuses on Greer using her sight.

The book still switches perspective between Gretchen, Greer and Grace. The story is a bit scattered because it jumps between the three sisters. I still had some trouble with all of the sisters sounding the same to me from chapter to chapter, I often had to go back to the beginning of the chapter and remind myself which sister I was actually reading about.

Gretchen is definitely a go-getter, Greer is used to the fine things in life and very driven, Grace is a bit more goody two shoes and nerdy...but in this book they are all fighters and they all are dealing with similar things and I just felt that their voices sounded very much the same. I was disappointed that Childs wasn’t able to give them solid and distinct voices that separated them from one another a bit better.

All the girls boyfriends are in here as well. As started in the previous book Greer has paired up with Thane (Grace’s adoptive brother), Grace is still hanging out with Milo, and Gretchen is trying her best to forgive Nick. Thane has a very interesting past and back story that is revealed here. The Gorgon sisters also play a large part in the story and it was fun to have them in the story as well.

There is a lot of cool mythology in this book and I really enjoyed that. The plot comes together in a way that works well and is interesting. The book is written in a way that is easy to read, even if there isn’t anything particularly special or spectacular about the writing style.

I was a bit disappointed that things were pretty rushed at the end of the book and that things were left fairly open ended. I think this is supposed to be the last book in this trilogy, but there are still many threads to the story that were left open.

Overall an okay conclusion to this series but it could have been better. I enjoyed the mythology and Thane’s back story and there are a lot of good action scenes. However, I had trouble distinguishing the sister’s voices from each other and I felt that the ending was rushed and not all that well resolved. I would tentatively recommend this series to those who are interested in mythology based young adult paranormal. This series does not even come close to being as good as the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, however it is an interesting mythology based young adult series. ( )
