Counting. It's a common theme when teaching Early Literacy OR working with youngsters. Well, "Count the Monkeys" has a completely different take on the topic.....but I can't spoil the ending for you.

What is so fun is the engagement this book has with readers. The children LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the different animals. They love the absolutely hilarious things they have to do. It's an enjoyable, albeit sometimes too silly, read. ( )

This was super fun to read to my storytime kids. The artwork is colorful and the story is super fun as you try to count monkeys that have been scared off the pages by alligators and bees and other frightening things. There are a lot of opportunities for interaction with the kids. Not only that but it was fun for the reader as well. And let me tell you, that is not always the case with story time picture books. ( )

This is such a classic book to have in your classroom! I will always remember this book. Easy book for kids to remember and is definitely a benefit in teaching children to count. This book can also help you teach children to not jump on their bed, they might fall off and bump their head! So many lessons can be taught through this book. ( )
