It made me chortle at different parts, but I can't say much about it otherwise... the plot was weak but entertaining, the characters were flat. There was no character development. I felt like the book still needed some elaboration that didn't happen. ( ) This book is about Anthony, who gets a job at a fast food place, to win back the girlfriend he's lost and get revenge on the guy she cheated on him with. Anthony is a great main character--very real. He's incredibly awkward, yet his sense of humor was great (it's too bad no one in the book thought so), and his plot for revenge was believeable. He doesn't seem to have any real friends, and not very much luck at his new job, and I felt bad for him. This wasn't an easy book to read, in the sense that the events that happen to Anthony are pretty realistic and definitely don't have that movie-style happy ending. It's not very many pages, so it's a quick read, and I think, once again, Anderson has created a relatable, likeable character. Secondary Both Main character is Male Concidering that I was reading through the primary book this was a bit of a surprise - Those who design covers take note that this book looks like it should be with the primary kids. Upon reading however this book is unsutiable for that age range. The basic story surrrounds the male lead character who is just leaving school and has a summer job working at one of the local burger places. He had a girlfriend but she dumped him after he found her half dressed with another boy at a party. the story covers his attempts at revenge. The language and writing is easy to read and this would be an ideal book for those who are not good readers but who would like an adult theme to their reading. More like Burger LAME. This book was painful to read, only motivating factor in getting through this novel was so I could never pick up this book again. Yes, the book was and is that horrible. Sorry M.T. Anderson (author) but I did not see the humor and I am huge fan of humor and comedy, especially the dry dumb humor. The story was not captivating or moving, it did not go anywhere. The story was based on high school revenge. A weak story about a high school student (Anthony) who finds his first love (Diana) just to see it taken away by young adult(Turner). I simply dd not care what would happen in the book because the characters were so unlikeable, Anthony (low confidence, did not learn from his mistakes, only plotting revenge), Turner (too cool for school guy) Diana (not knowing what she wants) and most annoying were Anthonys two friends Rick and Jenny who were only sucking down each others face through out the book. A half of a star- The book could have been so much better if there was actually some humor thrown in somewhere and most importantly if there was a positive outcome, a hidden message of good, there was no learning experiences...the only message I got was revenge is the only approach to get back at someone. It was a hurtful read, especially when it came to following the characters through out the book, it lacked real emotions and not worth reading, especially if you are looking for a book full oh humor, the book was full of pathetic-ness. High School targeted audience, I would not recommend this to any high school or middle school student. Anthony has always been a wuss, but when his girlfriend, Diana, ends up making out with some strange boy at a party, his life takes on a different bend. He is bound for revenge. He goes to work at O'Dermotts where Turner (the strange boy) works and comes up with an unusual but successful plan to wreak revenge for stealing his girl. More about the characters than the food, but there are strains about fast-food burgers and chain rivalries. Fun. . . but not sure it fits the list. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
