Crime

The novel is an apparent sequel to Love you More by Lisa Gardner which gives the back story to Tessa Leone who is the protagonist of this series. She is a tainted State Trooper who now works as a corporate security investigator.

The story is about the Denbe family who are Justin, husband & father, owner of a multimillion dollar company, Libby wife and mother, married for the last eighteen years to Justin and their 15 year old daughter Ashland who are all abducted. Tessa works with other law enforcement agencies to get the family back home. There are many twists and turns including uncovering many family and corporate secrets that impact the kidnapping.

I listened to the audio book and the narrator did a nice job with the various characters that made it a very good listen. ( )

Despite the fact that D.D. appeared briefly only never to be mentioned again, and big elements of the plot that didn't really make sense, this kept me gripped until the last page. ( )

This book is a slow, plodding tale, especially in the beginning. No one has a happy story, and we get to learn those tales in painstaking detail. Fortunately, this book keeps you guessing till the end and picks up the pace about halfway through.

Excellent! Lisa Gardner at her best!! Totally suspenseful, lots of action, and great plot! This one even had a bit of redemption and heart. Love it! ( )
