I love all the characteristics of the tree and how detailed it can be. I think students will find reading about the tree enjoyable as well, along with gain so informative information. Overall, this was a cute story that I would read again. ( ) There are numerous reasons why I enjoyed this book tremendously. The non-fiction writing is very engaging. The author disguises the facts about the Baobob tree very well in a story like text. I think a great example of this is, “This is the tree, when the world was still young, that pushed up through the Earth as a small, tender shoot.” The creative and descriptive writing paired with the facts about the Baobob tree creates a very interesting and enticing read. In addition to the descriptive writing, the author includes beautiful illustrations that help the reader grasp the concept of the book and the different animals in the book he or she is reading about. One of my favorite pictures of the book is the illustration of the buffalo getting shade under the Baobob tree. This picture really helped me because the buffalo pictured in the book (African buffalo) is much different than the buffalo that we have in America. This picture really helped to provide me with clarity, which I would have been missing if the author did not include a picture of it in the text. Overall, the big message of this book is to describe to the reader how vital the Baobob tree is to the African ecosystem. Zeige 5 von 5 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
