Didn't love this as much as many others seem to. It was like a Spark notes retelling of books 1 & 2 from Jules point of view. Great to see things from his perspective but some parts moved so quickly through key events that it felt rushed and made it difficult to really feel Jules emotion through it. ( )

**May contain spoilers to Books 1 and 2, Die For Me and Until I Die.**

I practically squealed in delight when I knew that there's going to be a Revenants novella told from Jules' POV! He's one of my favorite characters in the series so Die For Her is a real treat for me. :)

Ever since Die For Me, I've known that Jules is in love with Kate. Yet, that knowledge did not bother me a bit. I was never worried that there'll be a love triangle between Vincent, Kate and Jules. I even find it cute whenever Jules flirts with Kate. But in this novella, I discovered that not everything is 'cute' in Jules' perspective.

This book recounts the events from before Die For Me until the end of Until I Die. Not everything is retold, of course, only the parts where there is Jules. And I find it interesting even though I already know what happened in those parts. Being in Jules' head is refreshing and it allowed access to thoughts and information that Kate (who narrates the books in the series) is not aware of.

For example, I learned that Vincent was already drawn into Kate way before they really met, and that Jules was against the idea of Vincent obsessing over her. Or how Vincent was when Kate broke up with him. The Dark Way (which is how Vincent can resist dying and is mentioned in Until I Die) is also explained further.

Reading this novella also refreshed my mind about the series. I was able to remember what happened in the first two books so when the third book comes out, I wouldn't need a re-read to keep up with what's happening in the story.

But more importantly - and what I liked the most about Die For Her - it highlighted Jules' love and loyalty to Vincent. He's in love with his best friend's girlfriend but he did not do anything about that. Some might have a different opinion about it and would say that it's cowardly but for me, it shows Jules' deep respect for Vincent to not even attempt to say what he feels for Kate. It's sad and painful to read about his feelings but I admire Jules for being a true friend to Vincent and Kate.

A good and quick read, Die For Her tells a story of love (albeit unspoken and unrequited) and friendship. I really enjoyed it.

Die for her was probably my favorite novella from any series I've read. It was so interesting to see the whole story through a different character's eyes. Jules' point of view was more interesting than the main characters' in my opinion. By the end of the book, I just couldn't help falling just a little bit in love with him. I can't wait to read the third book and see how things work out for him. ( )
