Spannend boek over Danny en zijn vriend Pat die wonen op een van de eilandjes voor de noordkust van Ierland. Een van de einlanden in de buurt is het Paardeneiland. Pats grootmoeder heeft daar als meisje gewoond, maar werd samen met de andere families verdreven door het harde klimaat. Sindsdien is het eiland onbewoond en men vertelt dat het er spookt.
