I just got finished reading this book, and I'm just wowed. It isn't like any other book I have ever read. I loved everything about the storyline.

Gemma is a journalist who goes to live with Phillipe in France to learn the true account of his and Chantel's lives. Their's is a haunting love story turned soap opera that has been taken over and warped by the public. Phillipe is such a private man that he does nothing to dispel all of the myths surrounding him. Gemma goes into this job not knowing what to expect. She eventually learns the entire painful tale bit by bit as does the reader. The feature is spun slowly, full of mystery, longing, heartbreak, and ripples of life. I'm being vague cause it's best to learn as you go in this situation.

"Trust me when I tell you that waiting is often the best part of a story. After all, once you know the story, it's over."

When did it change from a tale of two to a tragedy of three

The only reason I cannot give this 5 stars is the repeated use of several words on my cringe-worthy sex words list. This book isn't a new release so maybe these words wouldn't have bothered me so much if I had read it when it first came out before certain words had gotten to me so much, I don't know. If these words were substituted the book would be perfection, probably beyond 5 stars.

I do know that the story blew me away. So often the same narratives are used over and over just with slight tweaks. It's very rare to read something so different. As far as I know, I have read everything of Ella's that has been published. I like it all, but I know this book will stay with me. It has sticking power.

How do you fight the ghost of a love so deep, so strong, so emotional, a love that reminds you of the loss with every breath you take? How can you let another person into your life?

I enjoyed reading Blind Obsession by Ella Frank, it was a emotional roller coaster, a romantic story, that played out in the French countryside. It was very descriptive, and brought the reader right into the story, just as Gemma was brought into the love affair of Phillip and Chantel.

I don’t want to give any of the story away as, I feel each reader should enjoy it for themselves, but I did have 2 issues with the story. The first being it was too drawn out, it bogged at times, I felt like I wanted it to get moving. The 2nd issue is much more trivial, and in no way effects the storyline, I wanted to know more about Gemma. What was Gemma’s background, and why was she drawn into the couple’s story so easily and quickly, granted this was an opportunity for her career, but she gave of her heart and soul, and I felt she too was left a little bit damaged in the end.

Gah! I'm depressed now...what a trip. I really struggled with this one. Don't get me wrong, it was very well written. Artistic, creative and beautiful! I just didn't connect with the characters. My heart breaks for Phillipe, and I'm not sure what to think about Gemma and Chantel was another distraction that I wasn't sure what to do with. It was a good 3 stars for me up until the last few paragraphs which were so powerful in meaning that they earned an entire star on their own! I wanted to love it but maybe I just picked a bad time to read it and my mind wasn't in the right place for it. Others sure loved it and I can understand how. Oh well... ( )

Hauntingly beautiful very much in the Wuthering Heights way.

I just finished reading this book' I know this book will haunt me for a long time.

Once you begin reading, you will realize this is a very different book from the "formula" romance/erotica novels that are wildly available. This hauntingly beautiful story unravels the mystery of Chantal and Phillipe, while delving deeply into the psyche of our would be heroine Gemma. Readers should know that this story will absorb them with the unrelenting power of a great book.

As far as the ending is concerned, you will have judge for yourselves. I personally thought these characters were doomed by circumstances beyond their control... ( )
