Leaves you off with a cliff hanger. Great for girls that love drama. ( )

The clique is back at OCD! The new school year brings drama and a treasure hunt. Throughout the years every student at OCD has heard of a secret room that teachers forgot--an urban legend. When a mysterious upperclassman named Skye brings news that the room is real, Massie is instantly intrigued. The legend of the room says that whoever holds the key is the true alpha for their grade at OCD. Massie must have it.

Skye gives them a poem that will lead them to where the key is hidden, but the problem is deciphering it. The poem has been handed out to other girls in Massie's grade and the hunt begins.

With tiresome soccer practice, trips to NYC for agents and auditions, and trips to the mall, the Pretty Committee finds that the time they have must be spent wisely and that they must unite as one, or the alpha-ship will fall into the wrong hands--an LBR.

Lisi Harrison has done it again! This new CLIQUE novel is one you don't want to miss. The girls are sneakier, meaner, and will do anything to get what they want. Lisi Harrison has created a series all will love. Once you pick it up you won't be able to put it down! ( )

The book It's not easy being mean is about Massie and the Pretty Committee trying to find the hidden key, that Alpha 8th grader Skye hid. The key is a secret room where no one can get in at OCD. The pretty committee has competition too. Who ever finds the key wins. Skye has attached a poem, the person who has the key is a boy. Clarie was at Layne's house, Clarie went to her brother Chris's room and the poem about the key was Chris's room Clarie found the key, and the pretty committee one. Once they one they opened the door and didn't expect the room to be like that.

The main characters in this book are The Pretty Committee, Layne, Chris and Skye. They are the main characters because The Pretty Committee are the main main characters of the book because it is all about them. Layne is another main character cause that is Clarie's best friend and there always together and the book is like taken at her house. Chris is a min character too because he the guy in the story. Skye is also a main character because she is the 8th grader alpha and the key person. I could relate to this book because its about girl drama, and boys and being in cliques, and having a head alpha. But nothing like that happens at my school, where people are mean and talk about other cliques. I would recommend this book to teenager girls because some girls lives are like this. If I could choose the to be a character I would be Claire because she is know getting famous in LA and WInchester. She is a sweet and honest girl, she know doesn't care of what people think about her.

The book its not easy being mean is a classic book for young girls going into young adult hood. The book is full of adolescent interest, drama being the main thing. The title doesn't lie either, the main character Massi and her clique conquer all evil and all things mean. With this scavenger hunt. The young girls, while young and mean ,are powerful and one might hope they will become exceptional young women, because truly it is not easy being mean.
