That being said, I believe his only real sin here was picking one of the more terrible Barker stories to adapt. When Barker is on, he's amazing. But he's absolutely the opposite of on with this story.
It feels like there's no real lead character here, and the story just meanders (and takes far too long to get wherever it's going). There's not a single likeable character in the lot.
So, for the record, the base story is not good. The writing is average at best. The art, while often quite good, is highly inconsistent, with characters tending to look like completely different people from page to page, and sometimes even panel to panel.
Not a lot of fun to be wrung out of this mess. ( )
