A real page turner and hard to put down...I've lost sleep thanks to this book! Randy Singer has become one of my favorite authors. ( )

If you are looking for a great legal suspense novel, then look no more — Dead Lawyers Tell No Tales is the book for you. Randy Singer, who usually tells a wonderfully twisting story with surprises aplenty, out did himself on this book. It is easily the best I have read by him.

Landon Reed, convicted of point shaving while an SEC star quarterback, is a recently graduated lawyer looking for a firm to hire him. With his past and the long memories of football fans, Landon is having a hard time finding a job and escaping his past. But Harry McNaughton, a gruff, old school litigator, takes a chance, and Landon finds himself in the midst of a case of a career while navigating family obligations, dodging bullets and cleaning up smear campaigns in the process.

Randy Singer is often compared to John Grisham, and his style is certainly similar. But Singer has a voice of his own, including a subtle faith message and cutting edge plots that do not suffer from obscenity or graphic adult scenes. Singer writes a riveting suspense novel that focuses on the ins and outs of the legal system, portrays characters realistically, and employs enough twists, turns and surprises to keep a mystery fan scrambling to keep up. Dead Lawyers Tell No Tales kept me guessing right up to the end and had some wonderful surprises I never saw coming. I liked everything about this book. And since this was an audiobook version, I found the narrator added, rather than detracted, from the reading. I would highly recommend Dead Lawyers Tell No Tales to anyone.

Highly Recommended. ( )

Here is a legal thriller that kept me flying through the pages. Landon Reed, an ex-convict turned lawyer, that is given the chance to work with Harry McNaughten, a one-of-a-kind genius attorney. In between many court room hearings and meeting new clients, Harry had Landon helping him with a murder trial. Under his tutelage, Landon learns secrets of Harry’s unique form of defense. In this murder trial, they believe their client is innocent but in order for the jury to see past all of the evidence, Landon and Harry will have to find out the true identity of the murderer.
Sean Phoenix is the founder of Cipher, Inc, an intelligence collection agency. Consisting mostly of former CIA,Navy SEALs, and others with special ops backgrounds, they collect information for many countries, including the United States while keeping their work is done under the raider. As a former CIA agent, Sean is out to provide the justice he believes is lacking mostly due to the American legal system.
Kerry Reed is Landon’s wife. As a journalist she is after the “big” story. When an opportunity presents itself for her to get the inside scoop of Cipher, Inc by Sean Phoenix himself, she takes it.
Now, this is a very brief summary of the book. It doesn’t even get you half way through. There are so many twists and turns, I was shocked when I got to the middle and it wasn’t the end. This book has rollercoasters, thought-provoking mysteries and questions of ethics that kept the wheels turning in my mind as I read.
The author, Randy Singer, is a veteran trial attorney who gives this book authenticity. I would share it with my lawyer friends in a heartbeat without worrying about them thinking the book is inaccurate and insulting to the profession as many others are.
Characters from ordinary to extraordinary in this story were quite believable. Randy does a fantastic job of painting a picture these characters from what they look like, how they, what is important to them, and insight to their dreams. The way he weaves their lives together is intricately navigated in such a way that kept me guessing about what was going to happen between these characters and how everything was going to unfold.

Now this book is not the type for a short read, light hearted reader. But if you are seeking something along the lines of an intelligent legal thriller that weaves questions about faith, love and more faith, this just might be the book for you.
Although a 421 page book, it doesn’t take long to get through. The story drives itself through the discovery of the truth.
