It's fine. I don't get the love for Lyle, it's decent (no better or worse than many similar books).

(Note: 5 stars = amazing, wonderful, 4 = very good book, 3 = decent read, 2 = disappointing, 1 = awful, just awful. I'm fairly good at picking for myself so end up with a lot of 4s). ( )

Part of a series, Lyle the Crocodile got a job walking dogs. Each day a new dog is added. The fun in reading is to see if Lyle can keep up with all ten dogs in the end. Cute counting book; I think the age range is a little high. ( )

I love the counting style in this book. Not only is this book represented as a counting book, but through the addition of dogs and the various locations of each one on the page, each counting opportunity is different. My four year old LOVED it and never got bored even though the words were predictable.

The author provides a book where children can count along with the number of dogs that Lyle walks. This book is a wonderful example of responsibility.

Young readers count the dogs as Lyle the crocodile's dog-walking business grows.
