Interesting premise about a group of unrealated people who come together to minimize the damage done by the natural disasters that they dream about. However, each disaster was very much a standalone event, almost like each chapter was its own short story. Also, I realize this is a British book, but I had when American characters use British terms in America. ( )Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. I really enjoyed the premise of this story, and that it had to deal with natural disasters. I love anything that deals with these types of occurrences, movies, books....I can't get enough!! I loved the idea that there were these people having dreams that served as a type of warning system for the impending Catastrophes . With most movies and books that deal with this topic, no one ever knows that these horrible things are getting ready to happen and as a result many lives are lost. With this story you have three characters that take the responsibility upon themselves and go about warning anyone that will listen, an in return many lives were spared. I really enjoyed the story and would love to see more books by this amazing author. Good Luck in your future endeavors Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. I was using this space before to gripe about the watermark on my free version. The publisher sent me a new one! Great people. Still haven't finished the book yet though. The dialogue is very stilted and sparse, almost like a book for a very small child.Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. I read “Perfect Nightmare” and still do not understand what the author was trying to portray. First an older man and a young woman in England have a nightmare together, or maybe not, just similar dreams. These dreams result in them traveling to the United States where they meet a third person, a native American, who apparently had a similar dream. Into this surreal mix is added the implausible event that during their travels they meet only trustworthy, kind and helpful people throughout their adventures, receive invitations to coveted events in locales that are not accessible to most people, let alone visiting alien tourists, and finally that circumstance leads them from one purported “natural disaster” to another, then another! Clearly these are folks The Department of Homeland Security should be watching closely. Not to worry though, only bad guys – those that might harm the environment – are killed and thousands are saved from harm using politically correct jargon and manner. Our duo receives the thanks of the President for their good deeds and the story ends. Fantasy surely, trite certainly, predictable, and in short a waste of time. Earth, Air, Fire and Water - the four primal elements - form the backdrop to a tale of three characters who have a similar apocalyptic dream. Set in the present day, the story chronicles how these three join together and embark on a project to save the world and discover the nature of their nightmare. Arnold, a retired lawyer, and Dee, an Anglo-Indian college graduate, are from England. Amos, a Native American, is a miner in West Virginia, originally from Northern Idaho. Their travels take them across America to West Virginia, Washington, DC, Delaware, Idaho, Seattle and Lima, Peru. This novel brings together the clash of forces between nature and society as the three struggle to make sense of the chaotic world of the Perfect Nightmare.
