Opinion:
I absolutely love this book. I love how it gives kids this great imagination towards the magical Birthday Queen, who is in fact really your mom. I love how it explains everything that the Birthday Queen does; from testing out the games to the clowns’ humor. It is a wonderful book to share with kids wither it is their birthday or not. I love how fun of color Don and Audrey Wood made this book! (How could you have a birthday book without color?) This book has so much life in it due to the perfect mixture of the storyline, art, and words all coming together. ( )

I loved "The Birthday Queen" for many reasons. First, the main character is well developed. The main character throughout the book is the birthday queen who does everything to prepare for your birthday. At the end of the story, the author states, "And the birthday queen looks a lot like your mother." The author did an excellent job making the character believable and just like a mother. Second, the illustrations were engaging. The page was cover from top to bottom with color and action on every page. For example, on the page about the clowns, there was several clowns doing different things covering the whole page. The main idea of the story is to make you realize how much your mom does. ( )
