This textbook is a collection of articles and primary sources covering ancient civilizations and their culture. Unlike most collections of this sort, this covers not just the Western Indo-European cultures, but Asian, Islamic, African and American ancient cultures as well. A nice mix of background articles and excerpts of primary texts, as well as discussion questions, probably geared towards advanced high school students. ( )
