This book is about Little Critter wanting one more pet, but his parents are not sure if tht is a good idea. There are three reasons why I liked this book. First, I felt that the illustrations went along very well with what the text was saying on the pages. Second, I thought the story went at a good pace without leaving out any important information involved in the story. lastly, I liked the book because the language was very clear. ( ) Review: I thought that this children's book, "Just One More Pet", was very cute. All young children want pets at a young age and most parents go through a stage where they say they need to show that they are responsible enough to take care of a pet. This would be a great book to show how much work a pet can be. I know when my parents were talking about getting my puppy, we had to show them we were ready to take care of her through watching other things like starting out with a fish along with other responsibilities. Summary: The children's book, "Just One More Pet", is about a little boy who was walking home from school and found a lost puppy. He took the puppy home but the puppy was not allowed in the house because his family has too many pets. The little boy gave him a bath and brought him to his room. The little boy was told to keep the puppy outside but he wanted the scared puppy to sleep with him so he had to hide it from his little sister. Once the father found out he wasn't outside, they made a comfortable bed outside for the puppy. In the morning when the little boy went to check on the puppy, he was gone! He went around to all of the neighbors and no one had seen him until he walked back to his garage and the puppy was back! But there wasn't just one puppy, there were the puppies! A car pulled up and a woman and a little girl came out and asked if they had seen their missing puppy and they finally found the puppys owner! The little boy took such great care of the puppy that the family offered him one of the puppies! He asked his parents they the father said "You can have just one more pet". Review: I personally would use this book when I am a teacher. It teaches the reader about responsibilities and how to take care of a pet. The pictures in the book were cute and helped better understand what the author was trying to get across. Summary: This story is about a little boy who goes on a walk and finds a dog in the bushes. The dog doesn't have a collar so he takes it home and asks his mom if he could keep him. She said they would decide later so he plays with the dog outside. The dog doesn't get along with the boys other pets. The little boy gives the dog a bath and takes care of him. At night the dog had to stay in the garage and he was crying. The little boy felt so bad but he finally fell asleep. The next morning the little boy goes to the garage and the dog was gone. He ran around to all of his neighbors but they didn't see him. The dog had torn up the neighborhood, eating their fruits and vegetables. Finally after looking around for a while he goes back to his house and the lost dog was in his garage. The boy was so excited and found out that the dog had babies while they were gone. As they are looking at the new puppies, a woman comes up and asked if they had seen her dog. After being reunited with her dog, she offers the little boy one of the baby puppies to thank him for taking such good care of her dog while it was lost.
