Books on requirements management can be very dry books indeed. However, when they're written with the purpose of actually teaching the reader a thing or two about requirements management, and not meant as a work of pedantry, the results are something like Managing Software Requirements.

If you are a student looking to venture into the field of Software Management, or at the very least, requirements management, or are looking into performing some task in which gathering requirements would be most beneficial, but know little to nothing about the topic, then by all means, start with this book! (wow, that was a lengthy sentence...)

This book is a complete package for gathering and evaluating and otherwise managing the requirements you'll need to get started on implementation. Implementation, however, is an exercise left to the reader.

Nevertheless, this is a great resource for any prospective or existing manager of requirements. Recommended both for the novice and the pro. ( )
