Summary: Baby Animals on the farm is a book about a little field mouse that strays away from the field and goes to visit a farm. All the other animals take notice as the mouse travels around seeing all the animals on the farm. After a long day away from home the mouse decides the farm is not for him and makes his way back to the field.

Personal reaction: I used to read this book when I was younger and have always loved it. Now I live on a farm and see all types of critters make their way here. This book makes you think about how the animals feel when they wonder off somewhere new.

Classroom extension: I think it would be a fun idea to have students draw their favorite farm animals. They could learn all the types of animals that live on farms. And also the types of jobs each animal plays living and working on a farm.
