Harriet Manners knows that being a model does not automatically make your life easier. She still has to juggle school, bullies, her stalker, breaking up with the handsome supermodel, Nick, friend challenges, and getting along with other models. When she goes to Japan for the summer to be the star of a new fashion line, nothing seems to be going right for her. Nick is dating one of her roommates, none of her friends or family are answering her phone calls, she accidentally keeps doing things that are culturally offensive, and it looks like someone might just hate her enough to be sabotaging her modeling career. With the help of friends old and new, Harriet is able to get to the bottom of the sabotage and heal her broken heart.

As usual, Harriet is brilliant and clueless at the same time. She studies physics during modeling shoots, but has no idea how to talk to boys or sometimes interact with people in general. Her inner dialogue is laugh-out-loud worthy, and her mishaps make her feel relatable to the intended audience. She has a unique voice and continues to have wonderful relationships with both family and friends, but the amount of misunderstandings in the book might annoy some readers. Like the first book, it is not a serious book by any means, but it’s full of giggles, embarrassing moments, and adventure that will make fans of the first book thrilled to read more about Harriet. I liked the first one better. But I think this was worth it in the end and I will definitely read the 3rd in the series when it comes out this summer. ( )

I have no idea what captivates me so much about this story. I really just can't place my finger on what it exactly is but there's something there that just makes me feel absolutely blissful while reading it. Being able to connect to Harriet makes me feel like the story is a friend rather than a book. I am greatly anticipating the next installment. ( )
