It's an easy read, which was important for me as a first step in learning to confront these difficult feelings. The book suggests different things but doesn't push readers to adopt any specific road towards recovery. Most of all, the authors shows readers through compassion and understanding that it's ok to be a "mess", but there are also healthy and unhealthy forms of grief.
