Dragon's Gate - Pat Murphy. This is one of the better stories in the magazine. A girl needs a drop of dragon blood to save her mom. But there is more than one way to slay a dragon.
Books to Look For. Charles de Lint - Did not read.
Books - James Sallis. Did not read.
Doggy Love - Scott Bradfield. This is cute. Not great. About a dating service for dogs.
Tutorial - John Langan. Meh. There is a group of editors from another dimension who needs humans to right according to a rule. Not very good.
Plumage from Pegasus - Paul Di Filippo. I liked this one. Its not sci-fi - but it is quite funny. When an aspiring writer inherits his father's sump pump business and turns the newsletter into a review magazine, the top sales man is out of his league.
Red Leather Tassels - Benjamin Rosenbaum. This one is rather pointless. I think the author was going for surreal, it just came off as stupid.
The Chambered Fruit - M. Rickert. A dead daughter, naive parents, and a ghost. It was sad. Average story.
Film: SSDD - Lucius Shepard. Did not read.
Foreign Exchange - Robin Aurelian. Another funny story. This time, a family hosts a foreign exchange student for Christmas. He isn't quite what was expected.
Spawning - Harvey Jacobs. Aspiring playwright hears the call of a fish. And follows its advice. A fun story. The lead character is a bit pompous at first, but slowly grows on you.
Coming Attractions. Did not read.
Curiosities - Bill Sheehan. Did not read. ( )
