One of the best time travel stories I have read. Most time travel stories are concerned with paradoxes or the effect of changing the past. This story is more concerned with the mechanics of time travel. If it is possible to jump into the past or future how exactly does it work? How do you avoid fusing yourself with objects or people? What if there was an entire community of fellow travellers? The idea of “anchors” is novel and it takes patience to understand how they work. The author adds a psychotic killer to the plot to provide thrills. This makes it more than a workshop manual for time travellers. (

I don't understand how so many people read this book and were able to get past the actual sentences. This may be a great book for lovers of time travel stories, but for lovers of _writing_ it falls short. (

An enjoyable fast-paced action-packed time travel adventure based on accidentally time travelling to the 80s and the journey and adventures trying to get back home. (

The plot is decent, but the character's are pretty bland for the most part. The dialogue is clunky at its best and just as often outright bad. First half is fairly slow with A LOT of exposition, but the book held my attention much more in the second half when things actually started to happen and the pace picked up.

Am I being nice by giving it 3 stars? Possibly. (

I'm always up for a good time travel series, but honestly, I hope that this one actually pans out. Some of my issues might've been with the audiobook narrator who was not horrible, but definitely not great. Hopefully just a case of an inexperienced narrator early in his career. The story itself was passable, although the whole concept of anchors seemed unnecessarily overly-complicated. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the series goes. (
