I loved it but can't imagine a young child enjoying it. ( )

Written and illustrated by Vasanti Unka, this book won the 2014 New Zealand Post Margaret Mahy Book of the Year for children and young adult's - but I'm still uncertain as to who exactly it's pitched at. The words break free of the book as they're 'tired of standing still in rows' and they dance all over the pages until everyone gets sick of them, 'shut up!' There are lift-the-flap inserts which add interest and the design of the book is absolutely superb. Overall the book is an interesting concept, however it just doesn't all come together enough for me. ( )
