Deepak Chopra provides great insight into our eating habits; especially to understand why we eat. He offers detailed suggestions on the types of foods to eat and the nutrition value of those foods. The latter portion of the book discusses mindfulness eating and meditation. While I don’t intend to change the foods I eat, I am definitely incorporating his suggestions regarding mindfulness. ( ) Why do we eat too much ? Why do we sometimes crave that or that kind of food and can't seem to keep our hands off it ? Just to feel guilty after having given in. In this book, Deepak Chopra answers with common sense and a general approach. We eat because we're missing something, because we're overseeing other things. He gives us ways to try and make our lives better so that we won't have to compensate with food. I absolutely loved that book and took my sweet time reading it. I especially enjoyed reading about hormones because I had absolutely no idea of their intricacy and importance in our bodies ! Absolutely recommended ! ( Now I'm not the biggest fan of Depak Chopra and I honestly think he simplifies things a bit too much. He mentions Ayurveda and from what I have read he's considered a bit of an expert in Ayurveda and he only mentions one type of diet from that culture, while, from a lot of the reading I've done, your Dosha affects your diet and what spices work for you etc. He seems to be saying that because all of this works for him and a few people like him that these are universally applicable themes. I have to say that I found it too simple, there are a few good ideas in it and it would be good if you're starting out. It talks about the psychological reasons you're eating but not why you might be craving certain foods (which is what I thought it was). Not my diet book, your mileage may vary. This book has a lot of good information in it. I especially liked the chapter on eating in the Ayurvedic way and the entire second half is about mindfullness in your life and I liked that as well. As for weight loss? Chopra is saying that if you look to your inner self to find out why you eat out of boredom or anxiety and if you fix that the weight will come off easily. He writes a little on meditation, but there are better resources for that. I mostly read this to bolster my beliefs on the foods I should be eating (whole, natural) Zeige 5 von 5 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

After promoting this message worldwide for thirty years, bestselling author Deepak Chopra focuses on the huge problem of weight control in America with exciting new concepts. What Are You Hungry For? is the breakthrough audiobook that can bring weight under effortless control by linking it to personal fulfillment in every area of a listener's life. What are you hungry for? Food? Love? Self-esteem? Peace? In this manual for "higher health," based on the latest findings in both mainstream and alternative medicine, Deepak Chopra creates a vision of weight loss based on a deeper awareness of why people overeat - because they are trying to find satisfaction and wind up using food as a substitute for real fulfillment. When that problem is solved, he argues, normal eating falls into place automatically, and the entire system of mind and body achieves what it really desires. ??Everyone??s life story is complicated, and the best intentions go astray because people find it hard to change,? writes Chopra. ??Bad habits, like bad memories, stick around stubbornly when we wish they??d go away. But you have a great motivation working for you, which is your desire for happiness. I define happiness as the state of fulfillment, and everyone wants to be fulfilled. If you keep your eye on this, your most basic motivation, then the choices you make come down to a single question: ??What am I hungry for?? Your true desire will lead you in the right direction. False desires lead in the wrong direction.? Wherever you are in life, this audiobook will help point you in that right direction.
