Denali is the coldest, highest mountain in North America. Hard-core alpinists, rock climbers, mountaineers and neophyte backpackers flock from every country in the world to pit themselves against the mountain. Although most of these people succeed, too many others fail because of the cold, altitude sickness, falls, avalanches, storms or their own negligence. Accidents on the mount are common.
