A Delicious Mistake

One day I'm getting canned from my job as a computer programmer for having wild copy-room sex with a guy I thought was the new game designer. The next, I'm crashing my ex-boss's business lunch in a creative attempt to get my job back, and men are eating sushi off my naked body!

That's when I realize

a) My ex-boss is hiding corporate secrets
b) Hot copy-room guy is an undercover FBI agent
c) I would make a kick-ass spy!

Then Special Agent Hottie brings out his cuffs, and things get really interesting....

Pepper O’Malley makes one rash, albeit sexy, mistake and gets fired from her job as a computer programmer. Turns out, her mistake, the hottie she had sex with in the copy room, doesn’t even work for the company. She needs an income and is determined to get her job back, but she soon finds out that hottie and her boss are both hiding secrets. Now, Pepper has some decisions to make. Will they include the copy room hottie?

This story started out promising, but quickly descended into the Dumbass Woman from ClichéLand. The writing is mediocre, the characters shallow and the plot idiotic. The hot scenes are pretty good though. I rolled my eyes way too much for this to be an enjoyable read for me. ( )

The Characters

“Pepper”
Steve Raines

The Story

These two fall into screwing after 3 seconds of knowing each other (no, really he didn’t even have time to tell her his name) at her place of business and she ends up getting fired. That all happened in less than 19 pages.

I could not go on after that. Honestly I was bored. It seems to be a trend lately.

The Random Thoughts

*I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

Naked Sushi is a fast reading novella whose story has a funny premise. Pepper is a computer programer who, one night she is working late, finds out she's not alone at the company. When she gets to the copy-room, she meets who she thinks is the new game designer and she ends up having sex with him right there. Unfortunately the nasty Ms. Sims arrives and interrupts them and he runs leaving her literally with her pants down...

Unemployed and badmouthed in the area, Pepper cannot get a new job so she takes her friend's place as a sushi model at the restaurant where she works because she knows her ex-boss is going there to lunch that day. Her plan is to beg for her job back, which is not that easy when one considers the fact that being a sushi model means getting practically naked lying on a table and having man eating sushi straight from her... Her plan gets even more difficult to put into practise when she realizes the man standing next to her ex-boss is the man in the copy-room. Who turns out not to be a game designer but an FBI agent looking for incriminating clues against her ex-boss. Pepper ends up proving to be precious help and who knows if that's not the start of a brilliant new career?

It's a funny story that, because it's small, doesn't allow a lot of character development. I could have liked it more if the characters libido didn't manifest at the most incredible and inconvenient times... ( )
