Yikes! No religion should be that difficult and obtuse. Less is more. Give me the Golden Rule and be done with it. (

The sayings of the Buddha were handed down orally for almost two centuries before a convention of monks wrote them down in these sutras. Byrom does a fine job in conserving some sort of poetic feel to the texts while keeping the message clear. (

I perfect little book of advice. It fits in your back pocket so you can bring it anywhere with you and you will always have classic wisdom with you. Everyone should read it Buddhist or not. (

I have read many translations of The Dhammapada, and I think this is the best. The writting is clean, but still contains the relevent feeling of more in-depth translations. (
