The Red Baron was the top air ace of World War I, having 80 victories. The book is really rather enthralling--and does a good job in some respects. Principally, the book is poorly organized. But it tells much that is strikingly put. What a war was World War One! The drama of it--the age--it is unbelievable. The book spends much time on the question of who shot Richthofen down, and concludes an Australian gunner on the ground did so--not a Canadian pilot. On Jan 3, 2006, I read Who Killed the Red Baron? The Final Answer, by P. J. Carisella and James W. Ryan. and it reached the same conclusion as did this book. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
A detailed and colorful biography by Dale M. Titler that presents the argument that Manfred von Richthofen, the "Red Baron," was shot down by ground fire and not shot down by a fighter. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
