Mary Ellen joined the CIA when she was 23, dreaming of a life of glory and intrigue. Instead she got the graveyard shift, buried in the bowels of Langley sorting through an endless stream of surveillance photos and blurry satellite images. Then late one evening, another dinner date canceled, she discovers an awful truth. The CIA, the United States, likely the entire globe, is about to be brought to its knees by the greatest threat of the modern world; a computer super-virus called Buzzworm. For the first time in Mary Ellen's career, she sees her chance to finally make a difference, maybe even save the world. Except no one at the CIA will take her seriously. The agency then decides to hire an eccentric hacker to find the source of the virus. Within days he becomes a prime murder suspect when his attempt to remove the mysterious program causes the deaths of several key employees. Gregory Hyde, Washington DC's most infamous homicide detective is brought in to solve the case. He finds himself reluctantly on the trail of both the hacker and Mary Ellen, who have teamed up to track down the lair of Buzzworm in the wilds of Virginia. Is Buzzworm a computer virus or a serial killer? You won't find out until the last explosive chapters.… (mehr)

A fast paced page turner. I couldn't put it down. No computer knowledge is necessary to enjoy this book. A great storyline. I will be seeking other books from this author. ( )

I read the author's other book, Satan's Road and found it to be what I'd expect from a first time novelist. This book was miles better! The characters were entertaining and had depth, the true main character was more visible and engaged, and the story was well developed and presented. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'll be reading the next one soon. ( )

What a ride! This book is fast paced from beginning to end. CIA intrigue and high tech computer viruses abound in this very suspenseful thriller. All of the agencies are involved, from Washington vice, Homeland Security, CIA, even the FBI. Even as a reader, I had no idea who to trust until the end of the book. This story spins a complicated web of treachery, deceit, and absolute mayhem that has global consequences. Smooth prose and a compelling plot make Buzzworm a must-read. You won't want to put it down! Buzzworm is the story of high tech terrorism . Plenty of plot twists, with lots of action. Makes you think twice about your computer for those of us who innocently use it we take the chance of being hacked. But is Buzzworm a computer virus? or a serial killer? You'll just have to read the book to find out! ( )

Here is another example of an author damaging himself by not paying a professional editor, or even his high school English teacher, to read his book before releasing it. The grammar in this book is simply awful and so I stopped reading at about 15%.

I received a review copy of Buzzworm by Theo Cage (Shaylee Print) through Librarything.com. ( )
