Spoiled teen girl, maxed out credit card, frustrated parents. Perfect reality check? Send her to summer camp where Dad went at her age. Add in popular brother who already has gone there, have girl take three times as much as she needs. Have her attitude keep getting her in hot water, see her slowly learn and save the day after her worst screw up. Great fun read. ( )

Who are your friends? How do they influence who you are and how you are perceived? For Harper, her "friends" do play a role in her identity. When she spends more than her father can accept, he steps in and sends her to summer camp. What seems like torture for the teen slowly becomes a learning experience. It is a fun ride, and one marked with new friendships, struggles and a touch of summer romance. She has an opportunity to use skills gleaned from her rock-producer father to save the day, if she doesn't mess it up first.

It was a struggle to get into it, but as Harper's adventures at camp really take off and she begins to enjoy herself, the reader does too. It may even make you want to go back to summer camp.

Harper is a teen who's dad has made it big in the music industry. She now finds herself in a private school with lots of money surrounded by girls who also have lots of money. They spend it freely. Finally Harper's dad gets tired of how Harper is spending and decides she needs to get back to "the old Harper". So he sends her to summer camp with her brother. She has a hard time adjusting to camp. But eventually she finds herself again.

This book was a very fun read. The scenarios presented were realistic. It is a good book on friendship and being true to oneself. The characters were relatable and enjoyable. I would recommend this book. In fact, I passed it to a friend who loves to read YA. ( )

I enjoyed reading this book. The story reminded me of the days I spent at summer camp as a tween. The story was well thought out, and the characters were easy to take an interest in. Quick read for the poolside. As a parent of teenagers I was pleased with how "clean" the author kept the story. ( )

Oh, to be young again and only worry about myself. Summer camp, for the entire summer, is used as a punishment for a young, high-spending, social butterfly by her parents to ground her in a world where money and clothes do not define a person. They want her to learn what is important to make a life. While she doesn't believe her parents, and starts out feeling her life, or at least her summer, is ruined beyond repair, she does find her better self. ( )
