Trouble is a book that just could not be completed. Because the book was not completed, only 21/2 stars were given in this review. Just not interesting or likeable. ( )

This is the second Kellerman book I've read. I'm not very impressed. Can't people pick up vibes from sociopaths? ( )

Because I'm a huge fan of Jonathan Kellerman and Faye Kellerman, I could not wait to read a novel by Jesse Kellerman. This is also the same reason I stayed with the book at least half way thru when I did not find it interesting. This goes in my file of "could not reads". I found it overly dramatic, over the top and far fetched.

Jonah Stem is a medical student who has just begun a surgical rotation; he is so exhausted that he barely can keep one foot moving in front of the other. He's in the middle of a late-night errand when he encounters a woman being attacked on the street; his intervention is impulsive, reactive and successful. The victim is saved, and the attacker somehow winds up dead. Stem gets his 15 minutes of fame, and life goes on --- but suddenly it becomes very different for him.

What a wicked web Jesse weaves! I enjoyed reading this book. Carmen Coves may be a bit over the top, but truth is stranger than fiction when it comes to personality disorders. I say borderline with strong self-defeating tendencies. Jesse has a creative mind and knows how to tell a story. In many ways he's outclassed his illustrious parents, ( )

Relatively ok. I found that he talked over my head a lot. I am an avid reader and have a decent vocabulary, but he, unnecessarily, used very complex sentences and words that made reading the book a bit slow. A thriller should be exciting to read and not laborious... However, I did like the story and thought that is was pretty good, though slow. ( )
