Finding Out about Nuclear Energy is a nonfiction book all about nuclear energy. It begins by telling the reader what nuclear energy is, how we as humans have learned to use fission and fusion to be able to harness is, and which one we prefer to use. It then talks about how nuclear power plants work, where they get all of their resources from, and even lists some pros and cons for nuclear power. The book ends with a discussion of cold fusions, a form of nuclear power that would be even better for the environment but has yet to be discovered, and alternative forms of clean energy that work alongside nuclear energy to help power the world.
This book does a great job of informing its reader on the facts behind nuclear energy and gives the reader enough information to be able to form their own opinion on nuclear energy. Although it is all about a very foreign concept for most children, it does an incredible job explaining the information in ways that anyone can understand. ( )
