I started off really enjoying this and found it was hard to put down but found the end to be a bit rushed. Quite a short read. ( ) Oh well... I borrowed all five books in the series, they are about 2.5 hours long. I hope my library doesn't end up having to pay for the ones I didn't open. I am done after the first. 3 A.M. was not that good or maybe okay mystery. Kills time if you don't have anything else to read. It sounded interesting that Henry Bins only wakes up an hour a day between 3am to 4am. It's a medical condition that only few people have. Then his neighbor was murdered during the time he was awake, he saw the POTUS leaves her place. I wonder if the POTUS drove the Beast there himself. Bins also talks to the dead neighbor's cat. Full conversation, weird. Henry Bins suffers from a condition in which he is only awake for one hour every day, from 3 to 4AM. He will instantly fall asleep at 4AM, and remain asleep for the next 23 hours. One day during his 60 waking minutes, he hears a scream come from a home across the street. He goes to the window and sees who he recognizes as the President of the United States, leaving the home. Naturally, the book progresses through the investigation of the crime, mostly undertaken by Henry, who also manages to make himself a person-of-interest. The story was written in a casual, lighthearted tone that was the only real highlight of the book. The author injected a decent amount of the humor into the story, which I liked. At times though, even his attempts at humor were a little corny. In particular, I thought the verbal "exchanges" between Henry and the cat were kind of cute. But the author has crafted a tale that is way too far-fetched and borders on the ridiculous. From a President who potentially does his own dirty work, to a cat that rolls over and plays dead on command, to a main character who solves a crime in only one hour a day using Google, I felt the story was too unrealistic to be thoroughly enjoyed. A quick, quirky, and highly entertaining read. Henry Bins is only awake for an hour a day, 3am-4am. One night he witnesses a murder, and over the next weeks spends his precious 60 minutes being targeted first as a suspect then as a witness. Relying on his couch detective skills, he cracks the case and helps solve the crime. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
