This a sweet and cute (but short) Christmas romance. Girl likes boy, boy likes girl. Boy pretends to like another girl to get her help in creating the perfect date. ( )

I've had the book awhile and didn't reread the blurb before starting it. Now I'm thinking poor Kitty!, she's fantasizing about the guy she's at the football game with and he thinks they need to talk after the game. Dang, she was told Aaron never dated a girl more than once but I'm thinking this isn't much of a date!

This could have gone very badly! The deception could have had Kitty holding true to her phone call . . . "Her words sounded final, as though she never wanted to see him again" but fiction often demands a happy-ever-after.

There are a couple of questions but I believe one could be answered reading the previous books in the series and the other if the book itself was longer.

This could have been a quick and fun read but I had formatting problems with my review copy. The book itself was a sweet read and I'm thinking the two friends need books of their own. ( )

I wanted to like this short story, but it was poorly written and lacked any interesting characters. I have not read anything previously by this author, so I don't know if this is typical of her usual offering; I hope not. I'm a sucker for a good romance, but this story left me rolling my eyes. The Aaron character was demanding in an almost abusive way ("Let me see all of you now!") and Kitty was the stereotypical "when will he notice me" character. Within the premise I think there could have been a good story there but this wasn't it. ( )

I don't relish reviewing this short story/novella. From the very start (and perhaps this is a fault of the version I received) there were numerous errors in grammar and punctuation as well as misspellings. The writing was juvenile, dialogue stilted, there were poor word choices, paragraphs that did not follow general guidelines for paragraphs, and the story line, while a little cute, was also trite. After looking at other sites for reviews of the author's works, I'm sad to admit I disagree with them and can not recommend this book without substantial rewriting and judicious editing. Writing is difficult, I know, and this author has been fairly prolific - I can only hope her other efforts show more promise than this one. ( )
