Cat tries to read the story of Little Red Riding Hood aloud, but Dog keeps interrupting with silly questions. The cat is trying to tell dog the story of Little Red Riding Hood, but the dog wants Little Red to be a super hero (after all, she IS wearing a cape!) and the wolf (aka Wolfie or Wolfman) is a super-villain. The cat (and sometimes the reader!) gets more frustrated with the dog with each passing page, because the dog just doesn't get it that the eggs aren't exploding, the basket isn't a magic gadget, etc., etc., etc...... The second and first graders I've read it to have thought it was the funniest thing ever written. I've read it several times this week, and still think it's a great read aloud -- or own their own. The Cat, the Dog, Little Red, the Exploding Eggs, the Wolf, and Grandma is a story about a dog who asks the cat a lot of questions about the book he is reading. The book that the cat is reading is Little Red Riding Hood, and dog wants to know all of the details about the story, but he reads too deeply into the situations. The illustrations are very simple, comical, and fun to look at. The cat is more serious than that dog, so they aren’t very compatible. Cat describes the book all the way to the end of the story and is able to scare the dog by leaping forth to him. It’s a good read for all ages. One thing to maybe think about is the ending when Red’s father chops off the head of the wolf. This might be where there is some concern for a child’s viewing of the book. Read on July 07, 2015 Great one for the 4-7 age range (I think, I'm terrible at figuring out the appropriate age for picture books...). Cat is reading a book and Dog wants to know what the book is about. As Cat begins explaining about "Little Red Riding Hood", Dog has a lot of hilarious opinions, observations, and guesses about what's going on. Very funny! keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
