Otto just loves these McMullan "I'm ____" books. This one gets super specific naming tools that a Fire Truck carries. Very strong Harry Builds a House vibes (iykyk; my mom remembers being so sick of reading ALL the steps and parts of house building to my young brother, who couldn't get enough!) with the super detailed naming of tools, items, and components. ( )

This book caught my attention on the first page with elongated, colorful wordart for the sounds made by the firetruck's siren and horn. The style of the illustrations combined with these different-colored emphasized words helped add interest to the reader. Kate and Jim McMullan have created something special with these books which preach self-acceptance, confidence, and just loving yourself for who you are. These are all extremely important young children. ( )

It's been a fun series, but this formula has run its course. ( )
