I cried through most of this, understanding DJ's frustrations.

In the beginning of the story DJ Randall couldn't believe what was going on! The twins were squirming & her mother's wedding dress had black knee prints after she had knelt to comfort the boys. The twins wanted DJ to go home with them, but Robert, her mother's new husband, told them she had to go to school on Monday. Gran complimented her on looking grown up as the Maid of Honor, & said that she thought the twins were sick. Jackie, her biological father's wife, wanted DJ to come home with them, but it would have to be another time. Joe, DJ Gram's husband, told Shawna, one of his grandchildren, that she could ride Major, Joe's mount in the Police Mounted Patrol & Dj had bought. When Andy, one of Joe's sons, offered a ride, DJ said he could pick them up. DJ & Shawna jogged to Briones Riding Academy , where DJ & Joe stabled their horses. Shawna rode Major & DJ rode Patches, until Patches turned bronc & DJ's seat lost contact with the saddle. ( )
