This book is shorter than any of the first four, and best read after them (the four-book Cole wooing Jae and trying not to get killed story). The sex scenes still have too many descriptive words, by which I mean it obscures what's happening and how the characters are reacting/feeling. But they're certainly readable and sometimes funny, so I don't skip them. :) "if you and I go to that bed, and I get to do what I want with you, I might not ever want to let you go. Then what’s going to happen to me when you get tired of it and walk off?” 5 stars for the Audiobook 3.75 stars for the story I am too tired to write a proper review, i hope this will do: -Loved Greg's narration, this guy can give me an eargasm anytime and i would never complain. - I enjoyed getting to know more about Bobby's past, and what made him, be the way he was. Honestly Bobby is just amazing. - Ichi is adorable and i loved him even more here. -There was no mystery here, just a sweet, candy coated, sugary romance. -I wanted to punch Bobby's son so hard and Mike too. - Bobby's humor was on point and had me laughing. “He gave a halfhearted hope Ichiro could walk on his own steam, but a few fumbling tries to get him up onto his feet only showed Bobby how Ichi’s legs could double as overcooked noodles.” Overall it was a great addition to the series. A Cole McGinnis Mystery From the moment former LAPD detective Bobby Dawson spots Ichiro Tokugawa, he knows the man is trouble. And not just because the much younger Japanese inker is hot, complicated, and pushes every one of Bobby's buttons. No, Ichi is trouble because he's Cole McGinnis's younger brother and off-limits in every possible way. And Bobby knows that even before Cole threatens to kill him for looking Ichi's way. But despite his gut telling him Ichi is bad news, Bobby can't stop looking⦠or wanting. Ichi was never one to play by the rules. Growing up in Japan as his father's heir, he'd been bound by every rule imaginable until he had enough and walked away from everything to become his own man. Los Angeles was supposed to be a brief pitstop before he moved on, but after connecting with his American half-brothers, it looks like a good city to call home for a whileâif it weren't for Bobby Dawson. Bobby is definitely a love-them-and-leave-them type, a philosophy Ichi whole-heartedly agrees with. Family was as much of a relationship as Ichi was looking for, but something about the gruff and handsome Bobby Dawson makes Ichi want more. Much, much more. Bobby - eternal, self proclaimed man whore, he's really just trying to fill a void he doesn't know is there or has forgotten. There was surprising depth to this character and we see a side of him that has been largely glossed over. He has a pretty brutal past and has been running from it for quite awhile.
Ichiro - rebellious but kind hearted. He struggles with his own demons and fears regarding Cole, his father and his own sad past. Inexplicably he seeks solace in the gruff older man and the feeling is mutual. He's actually more the aggressor and is not some simpering person to just let Bobby have his way with him. He has demands and he's not afraid to voice them.
Each of these men try to deny their attraction - neither can stay away. Steamy, affecting and poignant. ( )
