Keine aktuelle Diskussion zu diesem Buch. series, issues #6-11 (rated T+, hoopla) - teenage hijabi Kamala continues to seek out the Inventor (who turns out to be a giant bird/clone of Thomas Edison) and help more runaway kids (who at first need to be un-brainwashed); she teams up with Wolverine (who has lost his healing powers) to fight some giant sewer Alligators, and later befriends a giant dog named Lockjaw, eventually meeting Medusa, Queen of the Inhumans. Takes place in Jersey City. ( ) Honestly, I was a bit disappointed in this volume of the further adventures of Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. It started off well enough and I sped through her meeting Wolverine, learning that the teenagers were basically batteries for the Birdman's machines. What threw me out of the story, however, and made me grit my teeth, was Kamala's speech to the Birdman's teen minions about how they weren't a lost generation and had value etc. etc. It just felt so completely forced and unnecessarily preachy. I understand this title is meant for a younger audience, with Marvel trying to bring in more teen readers. But seriously? This was a lot of fun. I liked it better than Volume 1 because this story was not in the Disney+ series and so I wasn’t comparing the comic book (somewhat unfairly) to the TV show. I especially liked cranky Wolverine and how the kids banded together to defeat the enemy. Although the teenagers in this book are Gen Z, the thought of a whole generation being considered disposable and dismissed utterly by previous generations definitely rings true to this Gen Y (I don’t go by “millennial” because it’s such a loaded term and also incorrect: if I had been in charge of designating the term's use, I would make it refer to people born in 2000 or later, which makes more sense). keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
