I really liked this book for a few reasons. I liked the plot of the story and how in the beginning the little boy Ronald got a dog named Lucky and was trying to train him, but Lucky did not listen. However, in the end Ronald realized that each pet may have their own talents and are not good at everything. I also liked the language used in the book, it was very clear and descriptive which made it easier to picture the story. For example when Ronald is talking about the weather outside, he did not just say it was summer, he said it was hot and sticky, which helped me picture the scene more clearly in addition to seeing the illustration. I believe this story had the message that not everyone is good at everything. It showed at the end of the book that Lucky was good a digging and Ronald learned to accept the fact that Lucky may not be good at everything and that everyone has their own talents. ( )
