Probably because I'm reading this in 2020 I found that this book really needed to be updated. And check their research. Some of it was plain out wrong. And some were included threat had no relation whatsoever to the US which is what this almanac is supposed to be about. And there were repeats which goes back to the research. Great idea, poor execution. ( ) I really like the idea of this book. A daily reader of one page biographies or important dates and how Roman Catholics affected the country or were affected by their American faith. I got this signed new edition as a gift so I take care to look at it often. I wouldn't ever write an almanac as it's too much work, but maybe a smaller version would be interesting for me to research and write. Appendix of American saints, blesseds, and venerables or those who died in America, dates of founding of American dioceses' and dates of founding of minor American basilicas. People included are: Cardinal Roger Mahony, Al Capone, Jack Kerouac, Andrew Jackson, Joseph Revere (grandson of Paul), Sisters of Charity at Gettysburg, Alfred Hitchcock. Not the final word on American Catholic history but a good start. Great addition to my library. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
