War between the Double W and Circle 22 might have been averted or at least postponed, had not the owners of the two outfits decided to ship their beef from Big Sage the same day. Bill Wallace, who owns the Double W, has a number of enemies, and GeorgeVillard is deservedly known to friends and enemies alike as 'villainous'. They both run about 5000 head of cattle in more or less the same section of the Sage Brush country. Big trouble starts when thousands of fat beef steers get mixed up in a wide valley below the Two Peaks range. The start of the feud between the two men is complicated by Jim Villard falling in love with Enid Wallace in spite of their fathers' haatred of each other.
