Everyone wants to be me. Maybe it's the sway of my skirt or the way I flip my hair, but I don't care. Even though their attention is the last thing I crave, I just can't stop. I dominate the track, the speed rattles my bones, and the wind and the crowd screams my name. I'm her. The girl driver. The queen of the race. And I'm surviving-something he thought I'd never do. They all talk about him. Did you see Jared Trent on TV? What did you think of his last race, Tate? When is he coming back to town, Tate? But I refuse to care too much. Because when Jared does come home, I won't be here. Tatum Brandt is gone. I'm someone new.… (mehr)

There are quite a lot of negative reviews for this book and to be honest they had me doubting whether I wanted to read it or not. I understand where they were coming from because we loved Bully and didn’t want that relationship that Tate and Jared finally found to be destroyed again. So I decided I wanted to see how I felt about it. At first I was saddened because they do split up and you just know it’s not going to be an easy fix. No one wants to see the HEA thrown away after we finally got it in Bully. I kept reading and then I could see why Jared wanted to go find himself, he was having identity crisis in Bully and Until You, he didn’t want to be in the military nor go to college but he tried for Tate and his love for her and to be around her all the time but he wanted his own identity so he could be worthy of her and help support her. I get it now that Jared was struggling so he needed to leave but I wished so hard that we got the mature and rational Tate we saw in Bully. If she had just took a step back maybe she could have seen Jared’s need to find himself but her love and need for him definitely blinded her. After reading this book and especially getting Jared’s side of things in Until You I understand his struggle and need to leave and I understood why Tate felt abandoned and lost again but overall by Jared leaving I think they both found themselves and got the HEA that was much deserved and it made them stronger on their own and mostly together. I get the negativity but I also see how this shows us that in reality love isn’t perfect and we shouldn’t need another person constantly to be happy but rather have a person by our sides to help us become who we are meant to be and therefore happy together. This book made me ball my eyes out I can't believe I finished it in 1 day. I cried so much reading this and what their situation was. I was so mad at Tate for breaking it off with Jared like she did at the beginning of the book, but understood that she was mad that she was gonna be separated from him again. I felt so bad for Jared, but I was so happy for him starting a career that he fell in love with and that he did something that he loves. Their pull is something that everyone in the book was aware of and let's be honest, Can u really keep them separated for so long? Their love is undeniable and we learned that very well in the book *smirks*. I loved how Jared didn't take use of her body when she offered but thought more emotionally and took action that way. Reading the proposal and their banter was so entertaining and fun. The wedding scene was such a prize. Then the ending epilogue was one of the best I have ever read. The whole series was so awesome to read and I will definitely be mourning the end of it for a few days until I get my next Pen book LOL. ( )
